Zeb just got back from the Golf Inc. Strategies Summit where he presented part of the course, Innovative Marketing Tactics for Golf Courses. It was a great event with several networking opportunities. Zeb got to talk to many golf owners about their concerns and what they see for the future of their golf courses. And, he got to share some knowledge about the benefits social marketing can have for golf courses.

Earlier this year, it was announced that I was going to be the moderator for a panel discussion on our book, The Social Golf Course, at the Crittenden Golf Conference on October 2 from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.

Prior to joining KemperSports, Amy worked in the resort and hospitality industry with both Troon Golf and OB Sports Management serving as a Director of Sales and Marketing where she was instrumental in the successful leisure sales, tournament outing sales, website development and overall revenue growth at the property level.

Jodi Shaver is the Assistant Marketing Manager at Desert Willow Golf Course. The Social Golf Course

In our presentation we discussed our book, The Social Golf Course and its implications for the golf course industry.  We shared ideas on how employees can take part in the social media strategy at a golf course, how to use Facebook and Twitter, how to evaluate the ROI of social media, how to increase followers and a brief Q&A session.

California Golf Course Owner’s Association Presentation on The Social Golf Course

John Hakim from Greenskeeper.org and I presented a webinar to the California Golf Course Owner’s Association (CGCOA) on April 10, 2014.

The webinar focused on our book, The Social Golf Course and highlighted social media and how to use it effectively at the local golf course level.  The webinar was the largest webinar the CGCOA has put on and we had a fantastic time sharing our knowledge of social media and golf with the CGCOA members.

The California Golf Course Owner’s Association (CGCOA) invited John Hakim, owner of Greenskeeper.org and myself, Zeb Welborn to speak to their members about the importance of social media on October 23, 2013.

During the presentation we discussed the importance of social media and the impact it’s having on our economy and our golf courses.  We also gave a lot of practical examples on how to use social media effectively at the local golf course level.

We had a lot of great feedback from our webinar and were asked to come back to present again at another date in the future.

The California Golf Course Owner’s Association (CGCOA) is dedicated to the stimulation of market growth for California’s golf course industry. They promote collaborative advertising and promotional advertising programs encouraging more rounds of golf throughout California.
